Dr. Fadia Kiwan is a Professor of Political Science at Saint Joseph University in Beirut, and Chair of the Scientific Advisory Committee of UNESCO affiliated program MOST. She founded and directed the Institute of Political Science at USJ for 12 years. She held several positions in Lebanon and abroad including being a representative of the President of the Republic General Michel Aoun in the “Conseil Permanent de la Francophonie”, an advisor to Minister of Education and Fine Arts, and an advisor to Minister of Culture and Higher Education. She is a member of the Executive board of the National Commission for Lebanese Women. Dr. Kiwan was also a member of the United Nations University Council from 2007 to 2013, and a former representative of Lebanon in the executive board of the Arab Women Organization. She was a consultant to the World Bank and several UN organizations. She wrote hundreds of researches, studies, and articles. She is an active advocate for human rights, women rights, education, democratization, public good governance and sustainable development. Dr. Kiwan holds a PhD. in political science from the Sorbonne University in Paris, and a degree in philosophy and psychology from the Faculty of Education at the Lebanese University.
