      Description

Women Win is a project by Fifty Fifty in partnership with UNDPLEAP. It aims to Identify the best possible scenarios to implement a gender quota or any other alternative Temporary Special Measures, to lobby the Quota Proposal which is 20% reserved seats for women. The project also aims to Lobby to endorse gender quota in 2026 Parliamentary elections, and raise awareness on the importance of implementing gender quota.

      Activities
      • Lobby and meet with MPs and Political parties to endorse gender quota.
      • Conducted awareness sessions across Lebanon in the (Beqaa, North, Mount Lebanon, Beirut) regions on the importance of having women in politics and voting for them.
      • Created “Women Power” website (online platform/directory) featuring female candidates in parliament and government positions at present.
      Outcomes
      • Increasing awareness on why it is imperative to have more women in politics and how Lebanon compares to other countries when it comes to female representation in politics.
      • Submitting a gender quota proposed law and discussing it in the Plenary sessions.
      • Creating a quota coalition to support and lobby for the quota proposal endorsement.
