Media Leadership and Digital Transformation Expert
Nayla Tueni is a prominent Lebanese media leader and politician, best known for her transformative leadership of An-Nahar, one of Lebanon’s most influential newspapers. Serving as CEO since 2011, Tueni successfully steered An-Nahar through a significant digital transformation, transitioning the publication from a traditional print newspaper into a digital-first media organization. She introduced video content and live-streaming, embracing the growing demand for digital news and expanding the newspaper’s reach to both local and global audiences. Her forward-thinking approach led to the creation of a comprehensive digital platform, ensuring An-Nahar’s continued leadership in Lebanon’s media landscape despite the country’s political and economic challenges. In addition to her media work, Tueni made history as one of Lebanon’s few elected female politicians, serving as a Member of Parliament from 2009 to 2018. Following the tragic assassination of her father, Gebran Tueni, she became a member of the board and Deputy General Manager of An-Nahar. Prior to her political career, she worked extensively as a reporter, editor, and manager at An-Nahar, where she also writes a regular column.
