Dr. Chantal Sarkis is an expert in elections, decentralization, governance, political parties restructuring, public policies development, and political communication. Political Affairs Officer at UNSCOL. She holds a PHD in political and administrative sciences, Dr. Sarkis is a Political Science Professor. She served as IFES’ program manager in Lebanon (2005-2009). In 2009, she was appointed as political affairs officer at the United Nations Special Coordinator Office for Lebanon. In 2016, Sarkis left the United Nations to take on the position of the Secretary General of the Lebanese Forces Party. She managed the LF electoral campaign, and was responsible for the backup office of the party’s ministers and MPs. She handled the restructuring process of numerous departments within the party as well. Between 2020 and 2022, Sarkis was the main advisor to Nahwa Al Watan, an electoral platform that was supporting the opposition groups in Lebanon in the aftermath of the October 2019 uprising in Lebanon.
