Description
Young Politalks is a project managed by Fiftyfifty and funded by the Australian Embassy in Lebanon. It aims at engaging Lebanese Youths, from different political backgrounds, in socio-political dialogues and discussions to foster confident decision-making processes as well as raise awareness on the subject of Gender Equality. By fostering non-sectarian, non-violent, and non-discriminatory communication, this project creates a platform for constructive dialogue and empowers youth to shape the nation’s future
Activities
- Spreading an in-depth understanding of conflict resolution and strengthening the participants’ capacities for collective action towards equitable societies.
- Training 25 Lebanese Youths to run for municipal and parliamentary elections and to become future political leaders and decision-makers.
- Establishing a network of youth trained in citizenship and equality, promoting diversity, equity, acceptance, and inclusion.
- Ensuring media visibility through sociopolitical debate programs on traditional media and video podcasts.
- Organizing dialogues in different regions to create cultural understanding and sociopolitical awareness.
