Description
Following the completion of Phase I, Fiftyfifty is launching phase II of its project “Women’s Revolution in Politics – Municipalities”, supported by UN Women Beirut, which aims to empower and amplify the voices of women in the Lebanese Community.
The main objective is to support female candidates in the upcoming municipal elections and promote women’s active participation in politics.
Activities
- Empowering 90 potential candidates through general and in-depth trainings and anwarness sessions and buolding community initiatuves within the regions.
- Establishing a women leaders network that brings together current female and former female politicians, female municipal council members, and potential female candidates for support, collaboration and knowledge sharing.
- Launching a national campaign to advocate foe the female quota and to highlight the importance of women’s political participation at a local level.
Outcomes
- Raising awareness about why it is essential to have more women in politics and the municipal work, and the female political representation.
- Empowerment and Training of Female Candidates
