      Salam Yamout was born in Beirut in 1963. She is the Head of the National Bloc Party. She holds a Master of Science in Electrical Engineering from the University of Arizona in the United States and an MBA from ESA Business School in Beirut. Ms. Yamout has been Internet Society’s Regional Manager for the Middle East since November 2016. This organization was founded in the United States and deals with Internet protocols and relevant international policies. Prior to joining Internet Society, Salam served as the National Information and Communications Technologies (ICT) Strategy Coordinator at the Office of the Prime Minister of Lebanon in the Presidency of the Council of Ministers, a post she held for a six-year period. She brings over 25 years of experience in the development and management of ICT systems domain and their impact on business, governments, and society at large. She worked with industry leaders such as Cisco Systems and international organizations such as the European Union and UNDP. Ms. Yamout has founded several associations, the most important of which is “Women in IT”. She also serves as vice chairwoman of the Board of Directors of the Lebanese League for Women in Business (LLWB), and she served on the boards of international organizations such as RIPE NCC – The Internet Registry for Europe, the Middle East and parts of Central Asia.
