This project aims to develop a national strategy for Lebanese Women in Politics, through a national alliance that brings together all entities/individuals of the Lebanese society related to advancing Women’s Political Participation in Lebanon: civil society organizations, active individuals across all Lebanese regions, educational institutions, unions,
political parties and emerging groups, public institutions, the Lebanese,Parliament, Lebanese Ministries, legal and electoral experts, female candidates and elected officials, in addition to several stakeholders
concerned with enhancing women’s participation in politics.
Activities
- Gathering all Lebanese entities and active individuals, across all Lebanese regions, interested in the advancement of Lebanese women’s political participation, to form a coalition to draft a national action plan.
- Collecting data from across all Lebanese regions to assess and
address barriers to Lebanese Women in politics participation at
the national and local levels - Drafting a National Action Plan, with key stakeholders and experts,
for Lebanese Women in Politics - Promoting the NAP with Fiftyfifty’s network including public officials,
women leaders from all regions, political parties, the youth, and the
media
Outcomes
- Formation of a National Alliance by bringing together entities and individuals from across Lebanon.
- Comprehensive Data Collection and Analysis by collecting data from all Lebanese regions to identify and assess barriers to women’s political participation at national and local levels, providing a clear understanding of the challenges faced by Lebanese women in politics.
- A collaboratively developed National Action Plan for Lebanese Women in Politics is created, including actionable strategies and recommendations to enhance women’s political participation.
- Increased Awareness and Advocacy through the promotion of the National Action Plan on Fiftyfifty’s social media platforms, networking, and by reaching public officials, women leaders, political parties, youth, and the media, leading to increased awareness and support for women’s political participation initiatives.
