Mariam al-Shami, a Lebanese lawyer, member of the Liberties Committee and the Women’s Committee of the Beirut Bar Association, was elected Vice-President of the Arab Organization of Young Lawyers in 2014. she wa nominated to the municipal council of Kafarsir in 1998, She was elected as a member of the Political Bureau In “Amal movement” in 2001 she was the first woman of this site and currently serves as a member of its advisory board. She is trained in political and electoral work. She worked on many issues within her party and with civil society, including the creation of a ministry for women’s affairs since 2008, The municipalities and the elected council And the participation of women in the ministry. She also participated in many local and international conferences, party and with the participation of civil society.In her opinion that change for the better can only be done with persistence and insistence.
