Nayla Geagea is a lawyer and researcher with more than ten years of experience and practice with a focus on international human rights, protection of vulnerable groups and international criminal justice. Since 2008, she has engaged in legal research and drafted legal briefs, memoranda, and draft laws encompassing a range of issues related to human, social and economical rights. She has worked with multiple local and international organizations including research centers to develop public policies and advocate for legal reforms, to implement projects and activities aiming at addressing forms of discrimination and marginalization of various vulnerable groups, in addition to conducting workshops and training for local communities in remote areas on active citizenship and economical sustainability and supporting civic campaigns on the local and national level. She has an extensive experience assisting civil society actors working on human rights issues as well as engaging with Lebanese authorities and parliamentarians to advocate for laws and policies reforms to comply with Lebanon’s international commitments and promote mechanisms for the protection of human rights. She graduated from the Faculty of Law at the Lebanese University with distinction, and holds a master’s degree in International and Human Rights Law from the Faculty of Law at Paul Cezanne University based in Aix en Provence, France.
